As you may know, Georgia is the "Peach State"
and we live in the "peachiest" part of the state.
There's an orchard close by that sells their "culls"
for $10 for 1/2 bushel.
We're not sure why they are #3s...they looked perfect to us!

Anyway, this is how they ended up...
(well, most of them...we ate a few).... ready for the freezer.
Used one quart Saturday, when all the family was here,
to make homemade ice cream...delish!
Hubby's tomato plants have really been productive.
We've had all we can eat, have canned a few quarts,
and have given some away.
We have enough to can some more...when we can find the time!
We are grateful for the bounty...ours and the peach farm's.
Such a blessing from God that we will enjoy for months to come.
A while back I saw this "birds on a wire" wall hanging at
Hobby Lobby. I kept looking at it...trying to decide if it was what
I wanted to hang over the leather loveseat in our living room.
When it was on sale for half price, I bought it.
I liked how it looked, but I thought it needed something.
So, I decided that I would use the "tricks of the trade"
I learned at the paint class I went to a while back.
With an old piece of baseboard, some paint, the computer,
some tracing paper, some brown wrapping paper, a paint pen,
and some modge podge....I made this plague to hang above it.
I like it better now!
I'm thankful for the truth of the statement, also.
I know my Heavenly Father watches over me...He promises
to never leave me. Scripture says He knows when a sparrow falls
from the sky. If He cares that much for them, how much more He
must care for me! That's a comfort to me every day!
Thanks for dropping by...your visits mean so much to me!
When I look at the birds, it makes me think of all of you...
they are gathering to chat and share...
just like us! :-)
The peaces look yummy and love all the tomatoes!
ReplyDeleteI love the saying you made to put up above the birds on a wire, it looks wonderful.
I prefer the ones the local orchards cull out because they usually pick the "good ones" too early to suit me. Our tomatoes aren't producing quite as fast as yours, thanks to our Early Girl tomatoes that are refusing to ripen. I love the finished product ... that sign you made for above the birds on the wire is perfect!! Genius!
ReplyDeletei was born in the peach state in peach country and smiled when i saw your 10 for 1/2 bushel because mother used to do the same thing you did, but he bought a whole bushel for 2.00.. many moons ago... love the birds on the wires and the scripture.
ReplyDeleteThose peaches look delicious! I miss the local peach orchards that we once went to. I think they may be out of business now.
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with your 'bird on a wire' wall hanging! How creative you are :)
So glad He watches over us. It's wonderful that you utilize the resources close to you. Now I want a piece of fresh peach pie!!
ReplyDeleteLove that promise...'His eye is on the sparrow and I know he watches me.'
ReplyDeleteFresh peach pie on the menu over here for tomorrow!
Oh, my goodness!! Sweet Debbie those peaches and tomatoes look delicious. That homemade fresh peach ice cream had to be sooooo yummy. I love the birds on a wire and the scripture you put above it, very nice! Hugs and blessings!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to catch up with you by reading several posts today! Love the saying over your bird decor - makes it very meaningful!
