We are back at home after a weekend on St Simons Island,
just off the coast of Georgia.
We attended the wedding of our young friend,
Daniel and his bride, Lizzie.
I directed the wedding ceremony
(which sounds a lot more impressive than it is!)
so I didn't get many pictures. But I did get
some good ones I think!
The wedding was held at Lovely Lane Chapel
on the campus of Epworth By The Sea,
a Methodist Conference Center.
It is a beautiful place...on the water with huge live oaks
covered with Spanish moss.
Friday, the bridesmaid's luncheon was held there.
The centerpieces were vases of lovely yellow roses
nestled in blue tulle...the wedding colors.
We enjoyed a yummy salad plate and lemon chiffon pie
for dessert, one of the bride's favorites.
Here's Lizzie enjoying hers ...
My dear friend, the mother-of-the groom...
she likes lemon desserts, too!
Lizzie's grandmother and aunts hosted the luncheon.
Their gifts to her were three cookbooks...
her grandmother's favorite, one from St Simons,
and one from her family's church...and this adorable apron!
Isn't she cute?
Lizzie with her new "sisters" and MIL.
She is an only child, so she is excited about
having sisters and nieces and nephews!
I was so happy to be included in this special event!
After helping decorate for the rehearsal dinner, being
held just a few hundred feet away in the newest building
at Epworth, it was a quick dash back to our condo to change
and return for the rehearsal.
More on that and the wedding next time!
I've been to St. Simon's Island and Lovely Lane Chapel --so I know how pretty that wedding must have been. GORGEOUS.. I'm sure that the wedding was perfect --especially since they had such a good wedding coordinator..
