About Me

Welcome...I'm delighted that you chose to visit! I started this blog in March 2010 and I am so happy that I did. It has made me more aware of the many ways that God is blessing my life. I have made some special friends who bless, teach, encourage, and entertain me! My desire is to be an encouragement to you. I hope you will tarry for a while and that you will come back to visit often.

being equipped

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus
for good works, which God prepared before-hand,
that we should walk in them."
Eph. 2:10

From Beth Moore's "So Long Insecurity"...

"In different translations of this verse, we are described as God's workmanship or His handiwork...or even His masterpiece! Bask in that for a moment. Some of us can get hung up on the "good works" mentioned later in the verse because we start thinking that maybe we are qualified or capable enough to pull those off. But guess what? Our Lord not only created us perfectly for that purpose, but He equips us to do the things He has called us to. He has even prepared specific assignments for us! Like a Sunday school teacher who helps her preschool students make a craft. She doesn't set them loose with art supplies and expect them to come away with a painting that rivals the Mona Lisa. Instead she chooses a project within their capabilities, prepares the supplies ahead of time, walks them through each step, and provides help when necessary. Those young students are set up for success. How much more will the God who created us...and who views us as the pinnacle of His creation....lovingly help us fulfill His purpose for us?"

So all I have to do is trust and obey!

  1. What a great reminder today. I bought this book for a gift - and gave it away - but have never actually read it myself. Have you done the Bible study with it as well?

So...have you had much rain??? Hope your week is going well!

  2. I am learning this right now. I am in God's schoolhouse and the lesson for this season is that I am crafted by Him for a specific purpose. The purpose is important and only I can accomplish MY assignment! I love your analogy of the preschool students. He didn't just give me the supplies and send me off alone. He is right there to guide and instruct me, and His expectation doesn't exceed what he equipped me for. What a good and gracious Father/Teacher I have!!

    Blessings to you, Debbie
