About Me

Welcome...I'm delighted that you chose to visit! I started this blog in March 2010 and I am so happy that I did. It has made me more aware of the many ways that God is blessing my life. I have made some special friends who bless, teach, encourage, and entertain me! My desire is to be an encouragement to you. I hope you will tarry for a while and that you will come back to visit often.

doors, doors, and more doors

When we finish our addition, we will have a new front door.
So, we went shopping last night to pick out one.
Do you know how many different doors
 there are to choose from?

There are wooden doors, metal doors, and fiberglass doors.
And the fiberglass doors can be wood grain or smooth.
There are stained doors...oak, cherry, pine.

 And there are painted doors...
in any color you could desire!
Or, you can get white and paint/stain it yourself.

There are doors with no glass, a little glass.
or more glass than door.

Doors with one-sided side lights, two-sided side lights,
top lights, or no lights at all.

A little overwhelming!
Since it is the door we use all the time...coming and going...
it's important that it be durable and attractive.
After all, we will be opening and closing it several times a day.
So, we chose a fiberglass and since our house is simple,
we chose a simple door. I'll show you when it is in place!

All this door shopping reminded me of another door.
Jesus said,
"Listen, I stand at the door and knock.
If anyone hears My voice and opens the door,
I will come in to him..."

So glad I opened that door! :-)

  1. since i have never bought a door, i had no idea how many there are, of course if i were shopping for one, i would be checking prices first. can't wait to see the new one.
no, we don't have the boat, we sold it about a year after we got married. i get sick on boats and airplanes and he did not want to go out without me, and we were paying 125 per month to keep it at the marina

  2. decisions, decisions, decisions!! that's a lot of doors!!

  3. I'm so glad Jesus knocked on the door of my heart, too. Yikes that's a lot of door choices. It would make my head spin...
Glad you found a good choice...

  4. I, too, am glad that I opened *that* door. ;-)

Yikes ... so many choices! Can't wait to see what you chose.

  5. I am so glad we only have one door to open for Jesus to come in.
Yes, when we built this I thought I would go crazy about doors. Not to mention having to pick hardware. It was a pain. Not to mention the price.

  6. That was the best door to knock at for sure - love how you brought that in!!!!!!!

  7. I would have had a hard time choosing just one!

  8. Now you have me wondering which door you got!

  9. yikes! We really need to (well, I'd *like* to) replace three doors...not sure if you have motivated me or scared me off! ;O

Your comment is such a blessing and encouragement to me! Thank you for taking the time to leave one.
