About Me

Welcome...I'm delighted that you chose to visit! I started this blog in March 2010 and I am so happy that I did. It has made me more aware of the many ways that God is blessing my life. I have made some special friends who bless, teach, encourage, and entertain me! My desire is to be an encouragement to you. I hope you will tarry for a while and that you will come back to visit often.

"grand" questions

When I picked up our grandboy Sunday
afternoon,he told me he had a bad dream
the night before and it had scared him.

So every night this week, when we
prayed at bedtime, I have prayed that
 he would have happy dreams
not scary ones.

 Tuesday night, about 2 AM,
he crawled into bed with me.
Another bad dream had scared him.
He said, "Gran, I think God
 forgot what you said."
I'll have to admit, in the middle
of the night, it was a little funny,
 but I did not laugh.
Instead, I quickly said,
"Oh, no, sweetie, God never
 forgets anything."
( I know He forgets our sin...
but I was not up to explaining that to a
five year old in the middle of the night! )

"Then why did He let me have a bad dream?"
Again, at 2 AM, I wasn't ready
to answer that, so I just said,
"I don't know, but I do know
that God loves us and does not
 want us to be afraid."

Since then, I have prayed about it and
I have a better answer for him now.
We will talk about it tonight.
I hope he will understand.

A couple of weeks ago, my daughter
said the realization that Little E
is not just a little body for her to care for,
but, rather, a little soul she is responsible
for teaching and influencing, was
becoming more and more real to her.
His question reminded me that my job in
that department is not over!
God expects me to not only love these grands,
but to be ready for every teachable moment
that comes along.

  1. I think you are really wise. It is so scary when they have bad dreams. I think it is so nice he could come and crawl in bed with you.
You are just the best Grandma in the whole world. :)

  4. Thanks for the reminder that as a grammy I need to be prepared for all those questions they have. May we each have wisdom that comes from God to pass along!
