Welcome...I'm delighted that you chose to visit! I started this blog in March 2010 and I am so happy that I did. It has made me more aware of the many ways that God is blessing my life. I have made some special friends who bless, teach, encourage, and entertain me! My desire is to be an encouragement to you. I hope you will tarry for a while and that you will come back to visit often.

i'm boot scooting!

A couple of weeks ago, after having some blood work done, I was told that I have a vitamin D deficiency. So, the treatment is to take a D supplement and to EXERCISE!! I had to stop going to the gym a while back because I hurt my ankle. And then, the Wii and Wii Fit moved out with the newlywed.:-)
With the diagnosis, I knew I had to do something. I don't really enjoy exercising, so I thought I would try to find a "fun" way to do it. I've watched others line dance and thought maybe that would be the answer. I found this video at WalMart. Well........it is really exercise DISGUISED as line dancing!! Ha!Ha!
The first time I tried it, I couldn't keep up, got frustrated and quit after a few minutes. But I thought about it and determined I AM going to do this! So, for the past few days, I have done what I can. When I get behind, I just stop and pick it up on the next step. I don't bounce well (it's okay, you can laugh!) so I improvise with my own "bounce-free" step! :-) Anyway, I think it may be fun once I get the hang of it. It is getting easier with each try. I like that I can do it at home and that I only had to pay once!
I wouldn't mind a bit if you prayed for me that I would stick to it..... I know it is important for my health. Thanks, friends!

  1. I need to stick with what I am doing too. I will pray! I took a class in line dancing years ago and thought it was fun. You can do it! (:

  2. I will pray! I am currently walking 5-6 days a week. I used to be in the "exercise habit" but then slacked off, now I'm trying to be faithful again.

I remember buying an exercise dvd and at first, I couldn't keep up with it either. Eventually I learned the moves and was in better shape and could actually keep up and that made it fun!

  3. I will be praying for you. I didn't know you could have a vitamin D deficiency. It sounds like something nice to do though. I know you can do it.

  4. Oh my that does sounds like fun - I'm not much of a dancer...but I think I could have some fun in my basement:) And I'm also D...deficient:) If I could only remember to take that supplement. Praying you feel much improved - supposedly the lack of D can make you really sluggish...

Take care...and bounce with care, too:)

  5. I can relate to finding it hard to fit exercise into my agenda! 2011 hasn't started off that well for me...when it comes to exercising. I'll be thinking of you & praying that you can stick with it. Sounds like a fun way to get in shape.
