In Sunday School this past Sunday, we were studying about forgiveness. The scripture was Luke 6:27-36. It talks about loving your enemies, turning the other cheek, and giving to others expecting nothing in return. One of the fruits of the spirit that enables us to respond this way is meekness. I had heard this before, but I was reminded in class that meekness is..."power under the spirit's control". Jesus demonstrated meekness during His ministry...not weakness, but meekness! He showed us how to love our enemies....He died for His!
A friend shared this statement about unforgiveness. I will leave it with you to ponder on this Good Friday....
"Harboring unforgiveness is like drinking poison
and waiting for someone else to die."
I agree...unforgiveness is a poison!

That thought is so true. We hurt ourselves the most, when we do not forgive.
