here's my friend...
...the sewer, the painter, the candle stick maker. Well, a sewer and a painter anyway! :-) She is the one who helped me paint the closets and make the valances. God has gifted her with many talents and abilities. She sings, she dances, she does sign language and she is an artist. She also teaches school and is a pastor's wife. We have been friends for 32 years. We have been there for each other for the birth of our children and for their weddings. We have also seen each other through the deaths of our parents. She is faithful to her God, dedicated to her family and her church and loyal to her friends. I have been blessed to know her and to call her my friend and my sister in Christ. I hope we have many more years to pray and play together!

And what a sweet friend she is! She also happens to have been my favorite teacher :)
ReplyDeleteHow sweet is that, it is so nice to have friends that you have been through thick and thin with.
ReplyDeleteMy friends have been like that for me too. I met my friends in Bible Study when I was new at everything and we have see each other through it all and that is what makes if special, deeper I think that just saying the word "friend."
That is a cute picture. I loved your chicken stories, and yes, chickens like to be carried around when I sit outside they do come stand around my feet and some of them will even jump into my arms. They follow me every where.
I just thought I'd visit this morning (though I need to be getting ready for school - I'm also a procrastinator, friends =) and what do I find, but this lovely post!!! Thank you, dear friend.
ReplyDeleteI need to let everyone know that it is you who is the talented one. An organizer, a thinker, a great story teller, a homemaker par excellant (sp), very witty, very bright, a wonderful sister in Christ, and a great friend these many years!
By the way, I only use sign for interpretive worship and that has gotten very rusty, but my love of it did spark a love in one young woman who went on to be a deaf interpreter! God is good.
See you Sunday at your girl's shower. I hope we will have made it special for you and her!!!
How sweet to have a friend like this for so long. And what a sweet tribute you posted for her!
ReplyDeleteForever friends...the best kind!
ReplyDeleteShe has a lovely smile. You are blessed with such a good friend, and she is too.
