...and into a new church home. Two weeks ago, the hubby and I joined the church that we have been visiting since September. We are confident that it is a place where we will be fed, encouraged and built up in the faith... and a place where we can serve. It's exciting to think about making new friends and seeing what God has in store for us there.
This past Sunday, our pastor began a study of 1 John. In 1 John 1:3, the Greek word for fellowship is koinonia. It literally means "sharing something in common". The Holy Spirit is the commonality that brings people of God together. It locks our hearts together....we are one.
I believe that is why so many of us in blogland have bonded so quickly...we have the same spirit within us. So, whether it's a handshake, a hug, a post, or a comment....as children of God, we enjoy koinonia.....fellowship of the heart.
"By this will all men know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
John 13:35

I am at a place where I am looking and visited a church and very much enjoyed the pastors message. I will go back next week and see where I am led. It is an exciting time..Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI agree, I think we first bond with the Spirit that is in us and it draws us closer together.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great time in the new place. Blessings to you my dear Miss Debbie.

ReplyDeleteBlessings to you and your husband as you both join this new family! Keep that excitement as you embrace this new change. The Lord will use you tremendously with such an open heart!
ReplyDeletep.s - I love koinonia! :)
Makes total sense ...
ReplyDeleteAll the bet as you begin in a new place, where you already feel the bond of love . . . there is such a great starting point in Christ.
