All around there are people hurting. Those whose lives are falling apart, or at the very least, will be forever changed. Hearts are breaking. Loneliness is overtaking them. Rejection is beginning to harden them. Guilt is threatening to consume them. How do they cope? How do they move on? How do they heal?
I heard this song on the radio recently. The words are powerful and true. Our only hope is when "His glory meets our suffering" and when "humanity is overcome by His majesty". He is the only one who can redeem suffering and make it not "go in vain". "Grace is ushered in" and "mercy takes its rightful place when "the hurt and the healer collide."
"The Hurt & The Healer"
by Mercy Me
Why?
The question that is never far away
The healing doesn’t come from the explained
Jesus please don’t let this go in vain
You’re all I have
All that remains
So here I am
What’s left of me
Where glory meets my suffering
I’m alive
Even though a part of me has died
You take my heart and breathe it back to life
I’ve fallen into Your arms open wide
When the hurt and the healer collide
Breathe
Sometimes I feel it’s all that I can do
Pain so deep that I can hardly move
Just keep my eyes completely fixed on You
Lord take hold and pull me through
It’s the moment when humanity
Is overcome by majesty
When grace is ushered in for good
And all our scars are understood
When mercy takes its rightful place
And all these questions fade away
When out of the weakness we must bow
And hear You say “It’s over now”
I’m alive
Even though a part of me has died
You take my heart and breathe it back to life
I’ve fallen into your arms open wide
When The hurt and the healer collide
Jesus come and break my fear
Awake my heart and take my tears
Find Your glory even here
When the hurt and the healer collide
The question that is never far away
The healing doesn’t come from the explained
Jesus please don’t let this go in vain
You’re all I have
All that remains
So here I am
What’s left of me

If you are hurting today, I hope this reminds you that He is the Comforter and He desires to "breathe life back into your heart". He is just waiting for you to fall into His "arms open wide".
"Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you;
He will never permit the righteous to be moved."
Ps. 55:22
Amen, amen. So many burdens to bear. So many hurting and I hope they can always turn to our Sovereign God.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful post. Where glory meets my suffering. Going to cling to that phrase! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful words, and the truth of them can bring hope even in the depths of despair, something to hang onto until we can see the light again and breath freely again. There have been times when similar words have done that for me.
ReplyDeleteAmen to this - I find myself in a similar place and need to read these words myself. sandie
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, if we look around, there are people hurting everywhere. Thanks for the message of hope that we as Christians have and are able to share.
ReplyDeleteWe went to camp for one day then came home due to 'Debby'!
