"A few years back, I owned my own day care center. The dad of one of the children had long hair and a beard. At dinner one night, I was telling my husband about him and said..."He looks like a hippie." My four year old son quickly said, "No, Mommy, he looks like Jesus."
"Love is the only mirror we must use to judge others."
Bodie Thoene, A Daughter of Zion
P.S. My sweet daughter has entered the world of blogging! If you would like to drop by and welcome her to "blogland", you can find her at "The Christopher Clan."
That is a wonderful story. I am so glad you shared. I have to write that down. I also liked the quote from Bodie Thoene. Did you know she went to my high school? Her family lived around the corner from me. She is wonderful and so is her husband Brock. She was speaking at our library and she told us that Rachel in the Zion Chronicles was a real person and she had just passed away. All of that stuff in the books happened to her and she has all of the interviews with her on tape. Bodie said Rachel was that beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteCan you tell I am a big fan?
I just had to share it with you.
They have the most awe inspiring, faith building stories that they tell.
What a sweet response from the little one.
ReplyDeleteYhat was so sweet. sandie
ReplyDelete"Out of the mouths of babes"...... Love that response. BUT--it is hard not to judge. We try --and we know that we are not supposed to have preconceived notions when someone is 'different'.....
ReplyDeleteBUT--I'll be the first to admit that those judgmental feelings do POP OUT at times... We just need to continue asking God to help us with these very human qualities....
Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy
