This week, we Americans are planning to gather with family to celebrate Thanksgiving and to remember all the blessings we have received as individuals and as a nation.
On my way to Tenn today, I was listening to a Matt Redman CD that included this song.
It speaks of communion and how we gather at God's table to remember Him. It seemed appropriate that at this time of thanking Him for His blessings, we ought to also remember His sacrifice that made our knowing Him possible.
Remembrance
by Matt Maher
"Oh, how could it be
That my God would welcome me
into this mystery?
Say ‘eat this bread, take this wine’
Now the simple made divine
for any to receive.
See His body, His blood
Know that He has overcome
Every trial we will face.
None too lost to be saved
None too broken or ashamed
All are welcome in this place.
By Your mercy, we come to Your table,
By Your grace You are making us faithful
Lord, we remember You,
And remembrance leads us to worship
And as we worship You,
Our worship leads to communion
We respond to your invitation;
We remember you ."
Great words. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
